Winlink ARDOP & VARA

ARDOP is a soundcard-based open source software TNC, and is implemented as a standalone program, the ARDOP Virtual TNC. It operates in two modes, ARQ which is an error free connected mode, and FEC which is a datagram mode withsome error correction, but is not error-free. ARQ is optimised for messagetransfer on HF, it's main use is mail forwarding on HF . It can be used for interactive access to the network, but isn't optimised for this use. .

There is a beta version of Winlink Express 1.5.11.1 which integrates the new software TNCs ARDOP and even VARA. There is also an update for the corresponding RMS Trimode software (the counterpart for RMS Gateways).

You may install and test the version using the Flag (within settings) Automaticaly install field-test (beta) versions of Winlink Express. Click update. After the restart of Winlink Express, the application will search for new (beta) software and install it automatically.

 

VARA

VARA is a High Performance HF modem based on OFDM modulation. VARA Modem, brings  state of the  art Military  grade technology to  new  and  existing HF data.

Introduces a new  standard of technology available for Amateur and  Commercial use. Designed for operation within a SSB Bandwidth of 2400 Hz.
