2nd AREG Winlink and NVIS workshop on Saturday 020319

We are organising a 2nd AREG workshop on 020319 to consolidate what we covered during the first workshop and will also cover vhf,hub and P2P winlink working.

As the first workshop it will be a hands on session.

Venue :- 35,Ambrose street Rose-Hill(QTH of 3B8FO)

Time : 13.00 - 17.30 LT

Theme :- VHF,P2P,HUB winlink working.

Facilitator :- 3B8FO

All OM's are invited.

NVIS tests with Reunion on 170219

Successful tests were carried out on Sunday 170219 from 13.30 to 22.00 LT with Reunion stations FR1GZ and FR5FZ.

Mode used was thor16 with flarq beacon on 80m and 40m with all sides using INV-V NVIS antennae at 20W.

Most of the time signal received was above 5db S/N.

So far all NVIS tests with Reunion have been very successful.

Winlink and NVIS workshop 160219

Successful workshop with three dedicated participants GZ(L.Francois),BAN(Francois.Y),BAL(UJO)

Excuses DU,FP ,FV and DM.

We discussed about NVIS antenna properties, design and implementation and used the Setup of 3B8FO to make some winlink test calls.

We also installed winlink express,configured it and made few mail sending .Each of the participants had hands on experience working winlink express.

    Thank you Yusuf for having organized this workshop enabled me to understand winlink.

    Will be trying this week to tx an email via Vhf?

    Antenna parameters were also compared and simple wire antennas seem best for emcom, even for portable NVIS comms.....
