AREG 2019 Workshop No 1

Venue :- 3B8FO's secondary residence at Royal Road ,Camp Fouquereaux.

Theme :- NVIS antenna construction and FT8 digital mode working.

The workshop will be 75 % practical hands-on and 25 % theory.

AREG Bilan 2018

Please find below a summary of  the 2018 BILAN of activities of  AREG  as well as the 2019 activity plan.

Please note that they are not in chronological order.

(1)Various successful  tests with local oms as well as reunion for nvis antenna working have been conducted .

(2)Successful digital mode tests have been conducted between FO,DU,DM,CW,Herve Vk3 station and reunion OM's  on both hf/vhf .

       (a)Transfer of files,pictures,chatting using Fsq on fldigi platform
       (b)File transfer and chatting using thor protocol on fldigi platform.
       (c)File transfer using ROS mode with Herve of VK3.
       (d)FT8 and FT8Call tests with FA and DU.
  
(3)Field days with FP,BAN,BAL,DM,FO

(4)Emcom workshop at the beginning of the year.

(5)Sending of  list of active AREG members to concerned authorities.
  
(6)Creation of our EMCOM blog.   

(7)Creation of a VHF link map for direct VHF communications across the whole island.

(8)3B8FO is now the 2nd Winlink sysop in the country.Various successful tests using vara have been conducted between DU and FO for mail ,file and picture sending and receiving using  winlink in gateway mode,hub and spoke mode and peer to peer mode.

(9)Various WSPR tests been carried out by CW,DU,FO.
      
It has been a year full of  learning the hard way and building trust and confidence.

In 2019 we will consolidate whatever we have learnt in 2018 and  organise few workshops to

 (1)Train interested OM's on the construction and setting up of NVIS antennae.

(2)Train interested OM's in all relevant digital modes which we intend to use for  EMCOM.   

(3)Workout together our ready to go kit.

(4)Processors  and Procedures to put in place for emcom operation.

(5)Organising workshops for  students and the general public in general to identify and train potential HAMS .

These workshops will help to cement  HAM  friendship and keep the ham spirit alive.
